楽曲紹介
『Don’t Push Your Foot on the Heartbrake』は1978年11月12日に発表された2ndアルバム『Lionheart』に収録された楽曲です。
作詞・作曲はKate Bush（当時の彼女は弱冠20歳！）、プロデューサーはAndrew PowellとKate Bushです。
この曲はアルバム制作以前から書かれていたと言います。
ケイトによれば、元々はアメリカ・ニューヨークで活動していたアーティストPatti Smithへの楽曲として書いていたそうです。
レコーディングにはケイトの兄で、同じくアーティストのPaddy Bushがスライドギター、ハモリのヴォーカルとして参加しました。
アルバムリリースから５日後の1978年11月17日、ケイトはBBC2で放送されていた『Sounds Like Friday』に出演し、『Don’t Push Your Foot on the Heartbrake』が披露されました。
1979年4月3日、ケイトはリヴァプールを皮切りに、ヨーロッパを巡るツアー『TOUR OF LIFE』を決行しました。
1979年12月28日、ツアーを終えたケイトはバーミンガムでBBCのTV番組用の撮影を行いました。
同曲を含めた11曲が演奏され、『BBC Christmas Special 1979』として放送されました。
